I grew up in Nepal, and the state of cancer diagnostics is very poor there. My hope is to eventually bring more advanced cancer research and testing tools to the country. To this end, I have learned so much from my time in Phil Sharp’s lab. Phil is humble and insightful, which are qualities I hope to embody myself. I am the first in my village to pursue a scientific career, and if I can motivate even a few young kids in the way that Phil motivates me, it would be a win.
