Call for personal protective equipment donations

As COVID-19 continues to spread, local hospitals and medical centers have an acute need for personal protective equipment (PPE), including surgical masks, face shields, N95s, sanitizer, gloves, safety gowns, and transport media. These facilities are desperate for such supplies, and are actively reaching out to the local community for assistance.  MIT is collecting all extra PPE for rapid donation to these medical centers and hospitals.

If you are interested in donating PPE to the Institute, please email donate-ppe@mit.edu. All material should be sent unopened and ideally divided into separate containers (for each type of PPE e.g. masks, gloves, etc.).

There are also opportunities to donate to MIT’s Covid-19 Emergency Fund, which will supplement Institute resources that are already being applied to these immediate medical needs. In addition, the Institute is accepting gifts to the MIT Covid-19 Research Fund, which will support MIT faculty and researchers addressing various aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic, including vaccine development, AI solutions, portable ventilators, and improved protective equipment.

Please follow-up with Biology Development Officer, Daniel Griffin at degriff@mit.edu or (617) 452-3010 with any questions, and someone will respond to your request as soon as possible.
