Raleigh McElvery holds a bachelor’s in neuroscience from Bowdoin College and a master’s from the MIT Graduate Program in Science Writing. As the Communications Specialist for MIT Biology, she authors MIT News articles and trainee profiles for the department website. She is also MIT Biology's resident photographer, produces short science videos about people and research, and co-produces the BioGenesis podcast. In addition, she manages the department's website, generates weekly internal newsletters and quarterly external newsletters. In 2019, she earned an Infinite Mile Award from the School of Science for these efforts. Her work has also appeared in Science Magazine, Nature Magazine, Discover Magazine, Quanta Magazine, Chemical & Engineering News, PBS NOVA Next, MIT Technology Review, NASA Goddard, and more.
