Daniel works closely with the Department Head on all aspects of fundraising including strategic planning, identification and cultivation of prospects, stewardship of existing donors, event planning, and reporting. He also collaborates with Biology faculty to highlight their research and promote the importance of basic science.
Daniel serves as a liaison for Biology across the Institute, working closely with Resource Development, other schools and departments within MIT, as well as collaborating with volunteers and members of the Biotech and pharmaceutical industries. He also partners with the department’s communications team to create and promote development marketing content and materials.
Daniel holds a Master of Public Administration and Master of Science in Political Science from Suffolk University. He has extensive development experience, previously serving in key roles at Harvard Business School, MIT Resource Development, and Suffolk University. He also spent time working in government, raising money for a variety of political campaigns, two Massachusetts Senators, and a former Massachusetts Attorney General.
Daniel was a participant in the MIT Venture Mentoring Program as the Founder & CEO of a start-up focused on enhancing the water-proofing properties and durability of materials used across a variety of industries and applications. He holds a number of U.S. Patents, remains an active member of the MIT Entrepreneurial community, and serves as a Mentor to young entrepreneurs through the MIT Venture Mentorship Program.
Daniel is a Member of the Suffolk University CAS Alumni Board of Directors as well as the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
